DAY 1: WEDNESDAY MARCH 20th

DAY 2: THURSDAY MARCH 21st
Viviers

Viviers, on the right bank of the Rhône in scenic Ardèche, is the heart of Vivarais. Rich in history and heritage, this charming town showcases its past through revered landmarks. The former bishops’ palace now serves as the Town Hall, while the 18th-century Hôtel de Roqueplane is the diocese seat. The magnificent Cathedral of St Vincent blends Romanesque, flamboyant Gothic, and 18th-century architecture, featuring a adorned choir with Gobelins tapestries and a splendid marble altar. Nearby, the 16th-century Knights’ House boasts a Renaissance façade, while the 18th-century mansions of Beaulieu and Tourville grace the elegant Grande Rue.

Further, we explore the medieval fortress town of Griganan, founded in the 11th century with refined 12th-century fortifications.

As we venture further, the medieval Jewish Quarter unveils its secrets. Here, the synagogue stands as a poignant link to the past, its origins dating back to 1221. Though rebuilt in 1848, its hallowed halls continue to echo with the prayers of the Avignon Jewish community, a living testament to the enduring spirit that has persevered through the ages.

Motzei Shabbos: Purim commences with Megillah Leining, followed by a splendid Melaveh Malka celebration filled with Purim festivities.

DAY 5: SUNDAY PURIM MARCH 24st

Purim in Provence mirrors the captivating beauty and excitement of the surrounding landscape.

We will start this splendid day with Shachris and Megila reading on the top deck.

Afterward, we'll embark on a creative adventure, preparing Mishloach Manot to exchange with one another.

As our boat docks in Chateauneuf-Du-Pape, we'll explore a breathtaking winery, where the grand Masquerade Purim Ball awaits.

Following a tranquil morning of leisurely sailing and engaging onboard programming, our afternoon unfolds with a captivating excursion to the Ardeche Gorge, renowned as the "European Grand Canyon." Yet, our journey holds a unique twist – a voyage through time aboard the legendary Train de l’Ardèche, affectionately known as the Mastrou.

Departing from the Saint-Jean-de-Muzols / Tournon-sur-Rhône station, the steam train embarks on a nostalgic journey that transcends the ordinary. As the rhythmic chug of the train's wheels harmonizes with the serene landscapes, you'll be transported to an era of timeless charm.

From this authentic steam train, witness breathtaking vistas, including the famed Gorges du Doux in the Ardeche. It's a journey blending history, nature, and nostalgia, where the steam train and scenic beauty create an immersive world of boundless beauty.
